  1. We got deluged around 6:00. Some pretty intense lightning and thunder. Some light showers now.
  2. Nothing here as usual. Narragansett Bay really prevents anything convective from getting here with any semblance of a Southerly wind.
  3. Was still sleeting as of about 30 minutes ago. But some legit snow falling now.
  4. Official reports I’ve seen for Fall River and Tiverton, of 22”. Just came in and that seems very reasonable.
  5. Yeah. That band went right from the S Shore across you through here in Fall River and all the way to Newport. Doesn’t often work out like that.
  6. Has lightened within the last half hour after heavy to moderate for hours. No idea how much so far. The drifts are pretty incredible.
  7. ‘78 Blizzard. Nothing like being out of school for 3 weeks when you’re 11 y.o. The conditions, drifts, societal impacts made it the storm of my lifetime. Feb. 8-9, 2013 is probably next best. And for a surprise storm Dec. 6, 1981. Foot to foot and a half was completely unexpected. Wind stayed Northerly the whole storm to avoid changeover. Everything was pasted.
  8. I’m sure that this is the last time I jack this winter compared to just about everyone else on here.
  9. Coming down good here. Accumulating well on colder surfaces.
  10. Out in the Southwest visiting some national parks. Figures I would miss out on a doozy. Had this feeling when I planned this as last week of Oct. has had some biggies.
  11. Emergency broadcast on tv. Poss. Tornado west of Aquinnah inbound east of here from NB to Falmouth.
  12. I think that they are far enough west to have just enough flow on a SW wind from LI. Having lived here for almost my entire 50+ years to see many healthy cells struggle to make it to this side of the Bay.
  13. Not a drop here. Watched the light show to the north as always. The only thing this place does worse than snow is thunderstorms. Narragansett Bay is literally the forcefield for storms.
  14. Damn this is really sad news. I always rooted for James to get what his snow goggles saw. He’d often respond when I bumped his posts because he knew I live in a bad place for snow. Id like to think he’s in a place that gets blizzards of our dreams every day. He will really be missed.
  15. It’s an ironic circumstance of life that we wait months for good weather to get outdoors and then have to suffer the effects of pollen and be cautious of mosquito and tick borne illnesses.
  16. Check out the Yankee Mag webcam from Dublin, NH. Looks like a shellacking there.
  17. I never got the flu vaccine until I was about 40 when I got the flu and felt as if I could die. I thought I was invincible before that. I’ve been vaccinated for flu every year since and I’m now in my mid 50s. I learned the hard way the benefit of the flu vaccine. Get it if you can.
  18. Still pounding here, although probably last gasp. Over 6 inches from what I can tell.
  19. It was pounding good for about 1.5 hours. Was best rate here since the December storm. Back to fairly light snow now.
  20. Wow. 2/1 was a bust here. Hope we get a SNE wide event (or 2) all the way to Jimmy.
