  1. Low of 31 last night. Forecast low of 29 tonight. Not uncommon for mid-March.
  2. And by the time the storm actually hits, Mt. Mitchell will be the only location reporting snow.
  3. Too warm for snow, too cold for comfort. It is the worst combination we thought would happen.
  4. Too damn windy. Gusts up to 35-40. My trash and recycle toters were blown down into my driveway.
  5. I just walked outside and flurries were falling. My weather station is reading 46 degrees!
  6. Surprisingly, not the warmest February at Richmond or Norfolk, but in the top 5.
  7. I just want an inch of snow to make a snowball.
  8. The last winter without even a trace of snow at Newport News was 97-98 from what I recall.
  9. If even GAWX is saying it's over then it's over.
  10. I am not a meteorologist, but when there is a trough on the west coast with all these Cali storms, it always forces a ridge in the east, especially SE.
  11. And by the time the cold air does arrive it will be dry and short lived.
  12. 00z GFS fantasy storm March 17. It is beautiful.
  13. A mid march cold snap wouldn't surprise me. But snow would.
  14. I saw that Redding, CA got a few inches of snow. They're famous for their 110-120 degree days in the summer.
  15. Norfolk hit 81, missed the record high for February by a degree.
  16. From experience in the south, a negative NAO means nothing if the Pac Jet keeps roaring.
  17. Probably one of those little backdoor cool fronts off the water.
