  1. Very good event up here, but nothing over the top. I received about 18-20"....with some sleet and rain to start. I'll never forget the famous ADG from Walt Drag when I had arrived home from work that Sunday evening. Headline: "SEVERE WINTER STORM REACHING OF EXCEEDING THE BLIZZARD OF 1978" I remember that they were pinning the heaviest axis on a line from about KBEV-KHFD...citing anticipated drifts of around 10'. So, you understand why a very major snowfall had seemed a bit more pedestrian relative to what we were ready for. The heaviest actually verified about 40-so miles to the north of that...im se NH, where there were totals on the order of 36-40", but nowhere were the winds as intense as anticipated because the system's phase was imperfect.
  2. That was the first real event that I can recall....very vague recollection of March '84....
  3. That has nothing to do with my point, but it doesn't matter.
  4. I think there is a diff between Blizzard and a KU, then two of the region's most epic blizzards within 3 days of each other. But, maybe it's just me
  5. I know, but I think one wild week like that can be judged by aggregate impact.
  6. Likewise with regard to last year for me. The epic cold and snow combo was second to none.
  7. In fact, until Last February, I could say that I hadn't seen anything of that caliber up here for the entirety of my life. I have now.
  8. From an outsider perspective, I vote to aggregate both of the snowmageddon events into the one voting option.
  9. I turned to sleet and rain after about 5".
  10. Sorry, i'll trade 7 extra hours of 1/2" per hour snow for the deformation band. This is nirvana.
  11. This is 1978...notch down with regard to cf. Someone down in se MA wil pull 40"
  12. I agree. i was thinking to myself that i would like to see the EURO on the west edge of guidance. Perfect.
  13. Yea, I am nervous about that....we have a really strong consensus, though.
  14. thank, man. About what expected because that is what I got applying the 1/3 rule to the NAM output.
  15. thread to obsess on banding http://www.americanwx.com/bb/index.php/topic/45515-crunch-time-the-great-debate/#entry3297482
