That was a horrendous forecast. Any met offended by people suggesting that some forecasts are being driven by alterior motives has those idiots to thank.

Yea, its fair to question how much we are availing of this weak el nino at the moment. We'll just have to revisit when all is said and done. Good post.

They just delineate between disparate forecast snowfall ranges.

No one said that it was. But I don't see a connection between a +2.8F seasonal temp departure, and tomorrow nights major snow event. Call me crazy-

Looks like just some minor tweaks tomorrow to the first call from Wednesday.

First of all, it hasn't been that warm. Secondly, the fact that we have had next to no snow, and nothing for over two months, is a nod in favor of more snow from here on out...all else being equal. Especially considering ENSO.. Finally, snowpack is nice, but a strong, ideally placed nascent +pp of arctic origin should also provide the requisite resistance to preclude inland tracks.

Yea..18-24". Had me with like 12-18". I'm not sure how they couldn't have anticipated this QPF chop if a joe-$hit-the-rag man like me and you could. I mentioned a couple of days ago that this reminded me of the early Feb 2011, and 2009 events.....SWFE that people humped mid range guidance and expected 18-24".
