  1. Made it down to 9 here in Cape May. Impressive since we have no snow cover and the ocean is in the mid 40s. Been a few years. .
  2. I’ve never seen a snow map like that for anywhere near here. I know it’s a dynamic model, but those numbers would destroy the 1899 snowstorm totals where Cape May got 36”. Still a record I believe. Plus I think we got down to -10f behind that storm. Fun image to look at but I’ll just chalk it up to potential. .
  3. About 7” at camp 7am 19f at 1800’ asl. Similar at Gore when lifts started. Now a few more inches. Maybe 10” mid mountain. Small flake size. A bit of a sandy- type snow. Great for carving on a board. Plus more durable for Saturday ski traffic. All in all a terrific event. I hear more snow to south. .
  4. On my way up to camp. Headed to Gore in the morning. Hoping for a good event. .
  5. Cool topic. Grew up in southern Morris Co NJ from 70s~90s. Moved to Cape May in ‘95. Love it here but miss snow. Bout land and s cabin in the southern Adirondacks 2 years ago. Elevation up there is 2000’. Plenty of snow and winter Nov-April. Pretty affordable too. .
  6. All in all a nice winter event in Cape May. About 3” on grass and elevated surfaces. Was 33 and snow most of the day with about an inch that never grew due to melting and compaction. If a degree or two colder bigger numbers. Roads and sidewalks finally caved with colder temps around 4pm and snowed nicely until about 7pm. Good call by NWS and short range models. .
  7. 37f with a dew point of 25 here in cape May. Hoping this coastal component over-performs as cold air rushes in tomorrow afternoon. Could get fun. .
  8. 29f and just under an inch of snow. Now freezing rain. Cape May .
  9. Gore reporting 24” and likely more by now. My neighbor in Thurman area says he’s got 29” at about 1500’ elevation. I bet the snow pack is over 4 feet. Wish I was up there. Snowless Cape May this week. Did manage a great surf session yesterday before the winds got silly. Enjoy north country peeps.
  10. Great storm Friday-Saturday. About 18” both at camp and Gore. Glad I drove there early as that mountain was packed. I heard 45 minute waits to get up access road. Got about 5 untracked powder runs before things got tracked up. Snow was kinda heavy so legs were feeling it. Spent this morning doing about 10 laps down a 100’ vertical run I made on the hill at my camp. .
  11. Headed up to camp early tomorrow morning. Point and click says 12-20”. Got lift tickets to Gore Mtn for Saturday. Hope I can get there. Should be a good powder day. .
  12. Thanks for the information J.Spin. Sorry for delayed response. Not much service up at ADK camp. I was up there Sunday and rented a split board and skinned up toward paradise valley section. I spent the morning doing a long hike and downhill then a few shorter sections. Very fun skinning uphill. First time got me. Way better than snowshoes with board on backpack. Bolton services were great and the terrain was beautiful. Learning curve for sure but I really enjoyed the experience and company of folks I met hiking up. Will be back for sure. .
  13. I’ll be up at my camp in the Adirondacks this weekend. Considering headed to Bolton Valley Sunday for a split board rental —earn your turns session. I have been reading @J.Spin ‘s posts about their non-lift served terrain. Anybody have any advice on how all this works? I’m looking at a 2.5 hour drive early Sunday morning and wanted to be sure I have all the details. Thanks. Jeff
  14. About 18” in Gore Mtn area/ southern Dacks. .
