Wow
We have recently converted the default protocol of the entire site to HTTPS (a secure socket layer). You will notice a green "https" and/or a green box with the words "American Weather LLC" beside the URL at the top of your browser. There are two primary reason for doing this. 1) You will notice more and more sites are converting their entire sites to HTTPS as it adds an additional layer of security for anything and everything that is displayed on all pages and encrypts everything submitted to the site. 2) Credit card payments - The SSL has been used over the past year to allow direct card transactions within the site. However, we have noticed that updated browsers seem to be flagging non-SSL forms even if they are not a part of the CC transaction form (i.e. the search bar at the top). This restricts some users from submitting CC information. The only way to fix this was to convert the entire site to HTTPS. IMPORTANT: This change does affect a few things when it comes to posting image and video links. MAKE SURE YOU ARE USING HTTPS IN THE IMAGE OR VIDEO URL. If you do, your content may not show or throw a "mixed content" error in your browser. Most reputable sites (like youtube) have https. In fact, you'll notice Google itself runs on HTTPS by default. If you come across any errors while browsing the site, please post your issue here. I will be checking this thread often.
jburns
PMs seem to be on and off for me. I often get the spinning wheel when I try to open.
Stebo
Would that be the reason why this post isn't showing up as anything? Also the site in general seems to be running a bit slower than normal with page loads.

When I tried to post one earlier the way I have been doing, I got a blank as well. I haven't figured it out yet.

I haven't figured it out yet. Reposting the video with the (s) in the link works but it doesn't embed the video into the post. hope they're viewable now. Exciting night! Hvy snow and wind gusting over 30 mpg and currently 2 degrees. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Ay4ZAtUmqc&feature=youtu.be https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_wSoQDNsOM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H0kRZ9KKf9A Case in point with this post. Baroclinic Zone
Yep. Works on my iPad as well, but not on my Mac. This is the only way I can get a link to be visible in Chrome for Windows https://youtu.be/5Y6jm2JAnH8
jburns
This is the only way I can get a link to be visible in Chrome for Windows https://youtu.be/5Y6jm2JAnH8 I think it might be a problem with Chrome. If I use Safari, YouTube videos work fine.
eekuasepinniW
The youtu.be media tag was missing the ability to accept https links. Both are working for me now.
Roger Smith
I encounter times where I cannot reply unless (as I have just done now) I switch to mobile mode. That limits my coding options but does allow me to post. Currently on my second spell of non-available reply mode in regular setup, the first one fixed itself after a few days (mid-December I think) and this one started around mid-day Tuesday. Any ideas? JERSEYSNOWROB
I have a similar problem as Roger Smith. I can no longer post or reply from my work computer but can from my tablet or phone. This also started around Tuesday as well. EDIT: As of today, 1/12, I'm able to post and reply from work again. Thanks.
