Chicago WX
2014-15 snowfall contest is open for business. Over/unders are boring, so this year we're picking the total amount of snowfall for each city below that is recorded from November 1, 2014 to March 31, 2015. I'll figure out the best way to score it at some point, but that shouldn't matter with your guesses. Deadline to enter is November 3, 2014. Good luck to all. Alpena, MI (APN) Chicago, IL (ORD) Cleveland, OH (CLE) Columbus, OH (CMH) Detroit, MI (DTW) Fort Wayne, IN (FWA) Grand Rapids, MI (GRR) Green Bay, WI (GRB) Indianapolis, IN (IND) La Crosse, WI (LSE) London, ON (YXU) Louisville, KY (SDF) Marquette, MI (MQT) Milwaukee, WI (MKE) Minneapolis, MN (MSP) Moline, IL (MLI) Paducah, KY (PAH) Peoria, IL (PIA) St. Louis, MO (STL) Toronto, ON (YYZ) Tiebreakers are going out of region, just for kicks. Chicago WX
Winner gets to un-ban a currently banned member. Though I haven't cleared that with Hoosier yet. Some group pick analysis. -just 2 entries went for a combined below climo season (slow poke and IWXwx) -dmc76 had the highest combined snowfall total, followed by Gilbertfly -ORD and STL were the consensus most likely to exceed their climo snowfall (18 of 19 went above for both) -MSP was the lucky loser, with 16 entries going below normal for the Twin Cities -YXU had the highest group mean total snowfall versus climo (84.9" vs 71.3") -MSP had the lowest group mean total snowfall versus climo (45.5" vs 51.4") -the group mean total snowfall was 1046.8" (mean climo total is 946.1"), median total was 1025.2"
