wildweatherman179
The AO is showing indication of tanking again. While is is still too far out to know what the sensible weather will be, I am leaning toward a very stormy period during the busy Thanksgiving period with possibly some significant societal impacts across a large area from our Region into the Dixie area and on N and E. Bingo. Couldn't have said it any better.
bdgwx
The Tropical Tidbits snowfall map is ridiculously unrealistic. It looks like they don't take the dominant precipitation type into account which appears to be mostly sleet.
OKpowdah
Most of the cold air shifts to the other side of the globe towards the end of the month. We do get some pretty decent shortwaves ejected at the exit of the Pacific jet, but I'd lean more away from snow threats and actually more toward thunderstorm threats. JoMo
Man, I dunno. Euro backed off a bit too. NE OK/NW AR not really in the 2" range anymore, less than that. Mood snow
Wx 24/7
Things look good for a nice early in the season snow today area wide. We should all be able to cash in on this one, even our friends down in the Arkansas River Valley. After the snow finishes flying, I am curious as to how low temps will go Monday night. Single digits look likely in some spots, according to the models. Depends on how much snow cover we have by then.
wildweatherman179
Tulsa's map has increased since last night. Every place north of I-40 is supposed to be over 2 inches. Not bad.

wildweatherman179
Yeah, you have to like the way the radar looks this morning! Yeah. Snow all the way back into New Mexico. I don't think we'll have a problem getting some snow around here by the time it's over.

ouamber
The cold front needs to hurry up. Tulsa is sitting at 36, and I see rain to our west.
wildweatherman179
Yeah. It's moving pretty quickly. I'm the lone place in far eastern Oklahoma that is below freezing at this point but I think I will be slightly above for a little while before the front gets here. Wx 24/7
I-44 in the Joplin area quickly starting to get some minor accumulation on it via the MoDOT webcams. Looks to be snowing at a pretty good clip among the highest reflectivities that have set up shop right along the interstate.
JoMo
Started snowing here at 8:30. Big flurries. It's now transitioned to a light small flake (it looks foggy out) snow. Got a dusting, Temp dropped a couple of degrees once the snow started.
ouamber
Whiting up nicely here in Tulsa.
JoMo
This is only the 2nd time around Joplin we've had accumulating snow in November since 2000. I've got the Christmas tunes cranked up, and a smile on my face. This knocks out my snow before Christmas, and my daytime snow from my seasonal snow wishlist. And the temp has dropped to 28 and the snow has picked up in intensity, accumulating on roads now.
NJ_Ken
Steady light snow here on the north side of OKC. Rooftops and cars are turning white.

JoMo
I would guess there's about 1-2" out there right now with some 3-4" drifts.
The Waterboy
I would guess there's about 1-2" out there right now with some 3-4" drifts. That didn't take long!! Looks like it should get started here in NWA in the next hour or so.
JoMo
Yeah, the scary part was how quickly it accumulated on the roads and driveway once it started sticking to them. It didn't take any time at all to cover them and now rapidly accumulate.
Chicago WX
Springfield just put a new forecast out. 2-3" areawide for SW MO.... with 3-4" around Joplin. westhope84
JoMo, really glad you're checking all that off the list. Pre-Christmas snow is what it's all about, for me. About to crank up the classic carols as soon as the rates pick up a little here. It looks like pixie dust coming down, currently. Enjoy, everyone!
