jm1220
It's a new season and time for a new banter thread!! Rant here about the severe storm that jumped over your house, or the eighteen stages of grief you're going through because of the backdoor front that just dumped a mile thick stratus cloud on you, or brag about the number of cartwheels you can do on your back lawn. Go!!

Two things you can count on this spring and summer, boring weather, somehow missing 98% of storms and 100 degree weather for Waterfest.

SnoSki14
I hate the severe storm that is just to the west of you and magically dissolves right on top of you or splits. Severe weather season is always such a disappointment around here.

Severe weather season is always such a disappointment around here. It's because of the areas of convective initiation typical for this area and storms running into Marine influence/down sloping etc by the time they get here

SnoSki14
There were some epic squalls in the late 90s and early 2000s I must admit, but they've been so dead as of recent years. Can't wait for the words derecho to be mentioned a million times, it'll be like that deadly polar vortex.
IsentropicLift
We get our best storms with an EML and also as our really strong heat waves are breaking. We also will get a tornado to spin up occasionally on a warm front.

SnoSki14
Very likely the coldest night until November or December as we shift into a more typical spring pattern. Things still look generally cool looking forward into April and all that cold up in Canada isn't gonna go away that quickly so would be shocked if we didn't see April freezes. REDMK6GLI
Think its fair to say this winter has been record breaking. Many records around the tristate area were broken and some were 40+ years old. Quite an accomplishment in todays "warming" climate

WintersGrasp
Severe weather sucks here and it always disappoints. We don't do severe weather wellYeah in general, storms tend to develop in EPA late afternoon, spread into parts of WNJ into the early evening and fall apart. We do best usually with ISOLATED thunderstorms that can pop up right over us, and not LINES of storms Sent from my iPhone

No joke. Severe weather is all fun and games until an F5 tornado takes out half your town with 15min warning.
