ALSO...with 15.0" of snow in Feb, DTW is now at #21 snowiest Feb, so JUST out of making the top 20, which will be accomplished at the next measurable snowfall (assuming there is one) this month.

Also added record snowfall from Feb 5th (7.6") to first post.

Going to be doing some more record digging in the coming days :)

Lastly, I condensed some of the rankings in the first post to top 5s from top 10s (when possible) to save some room because this list is going to be huge lol!

With 22.7" to-date, February is already the 9th snowiest February on record (to go with 18th snowiest December and all-time snowiest January (& month)). The top 9 snowiest Februaries are very 21st century dominated. With so much going on this winter, I had actually forgotten about our uncanny streak of February snowfall at Detroit.

I'm still trying to figure out if my first day with snowcover in the streak is Dec 9th or 11th..... I think there was a snow on the 9th? That might have lasted through to the 11th and that would make the 9th my streak starter.

If that makes sense.

Here's Lansing's F6 for December.

The 9th is correct ... that is what I have as my start day.  We had a little bit more the most of SE MI around that time thanks to LES!!!

Dec 9th was the start down here as well...1" depth that day, and we havent had a day with 0 since Dec 8th. We did however briefly go to a T on Dec 23-25 & Dec 28-30

Ummm  ... 'We' I think you mean You.  ;)  This area got that ice storm Dec 21/22 and I have had at least 3" glacier base since.

Thats why I said "We got started down here on the 9th" too ;). You said you started your snowcover streak on Dec 9th because you got more snow than the rest of SE MI, but we started on that very same day with an inch. We just went down to a T on those few days in late Dec. Havent put a "0" in the 8am snow depth column since Dec 8th, and wont be any time soon :)

I thought it was Dec 11th not the 9th? started with Snow OTG

It depends...White Lake had T on the ground on the 9th but 1" on the 10th onward.

DTW, LAN, and FNT (and here) all had depth of 1" on the 9th...MBS had depth of 2", but White Lake only had T.

EDIT- went back to the Dec thread on Harrys board, you posted that you had 0.6" on Dec 9th...so you may have went to 1 that day, then down to a T then back up on the 11th? Not sure.

Monday morning and Tuesday morning record low's should be in play.

The 3rd has a record low of -5, that's going to be the nail-biter and if the last failed record morning is an indication, sunny days can crap it up with the runways.

The 4th has a record low of +5, that should be easily beaten.
