doncat
Ground fairly dry here in Astoria. Few flakes falling. Storm bust for NYC? Yeah most stations in and around the city haven't even seen any measurable precip let alone snow.
Snowshack
6z RGEM looked excellent for where you are at, snow wise...printing out about 30 cm of snow (about 12 inches) for Wading River. Looked like that band of 30cm extends back to PJ as well. Will be interesting to see if this all melts off during the day today or if ongoing precip can at least maintain whats down. Similar overnight results for you?

Didn't measure yet but more or less...snow not sticking on the roads here yet though...unless it comes down very hard...that might not take place until after 3 PM or so...we'll see. SR Airglow
Yeah most stations in and around the city haven't even seen any measurable precip let alone snow. it's early, we knew yesterday that the coastal wasn't going to be much, some people got an inch overnight. Tonight should be much better than last night, most of the city should hit 2-4" more north and east. -skisheep
SR Airglow
Very light snow continues. .3" from earlier totally melted, no sign it was ever there except for it's inclusion in the storm total. -skisheep
NorthShoreWx
0.7" here. Snowing decently at the moment, but I would still call it light snow. Vis might be under a mile.

tim
Temp up to 34F now, with just some light flurries, despite a fairly impressive look to the Penn State radar for eastern LI ...we had some real 'dark blues' over me for a while..which translates to the 3.5" here in eastport..nothing on pavements but it accumulated pretty quickly on grassy surfaces.still snowing lightly.. NorthShoreWx
Moderate snow now. Varying intensities, so call it light to moderate. Temp 32.
NorthShoreWx
By the way, the central pine barrens area east of upton must be piling up some decent accumulations, unless the radar is a mirage.

Upton had 1.3" and Baiting Hollow 1.5"...but that was as of 7:00 AM...I had about an inch as of 9:15 AM...and close to two on the grass. Might be hard to accumulate any more till after 3 PM or so. SnoSki14
Wow flurries and 36f in east Brunswick. It's sad this is the most I've seen with this, there were even breaks in the clouds with the sun practically poking through.
NorthShoreWx
1.0" here. Snow is very light now, but even before it tapered, we were at that stage where snow was accumulating in some areas even as it was starting to melt of on south facing slopes. Springtime stuff. jm1220
We had some minor flooding this morning in a small area of town that is usually prone to flooding from Reynolds Channel that required a road to be closed for a time, but other than that no major problems. Water in the Channel did approach the top of many of the bulkheads, so we didn't have a ton of wiggle room, but luckily disaster averted. Winds were gusty for a time, to 45 mph or so but overall quite minor impacts here. No snow accumulation, had off and on light snow for most of the night.
