Avdave Posted January 15, 2013 Share Posted January 15, 2013 Took the new highway, corridor H (US 48) to the end in Scherr, then down Rt 42 to Rt 28 to RT 66 to snowshoe resort back in Dec, a few days before Christmas. What a gorgeous highway this was and will be a great and quick getaway to skiing in WV at Davis and Thomas, WV when they finish it all the way to Elkins, WV. Near Star Tannery, VA WV/VA line on US 48 East of Baker, WV Near Baker, WV Near Moorefield, WV In the Valley near Moorefield, WV Long Sweeping turn at the bottom of one of the Allegheny Mtn ridges we had to climb View west into Allegheny Mtns on US 48 View west to the Allegheny Front in WV Snow in the higher elevations as we got close to the Allegheny Front in WV US 48 winding its way around the hills and mountains in WV, east of Scherr, WV The temp end of US 48 near Scherr, WV. Next climb up is to the top of the Allegheny Front and the plateau up there Seneca Rocks, WV off US 33 RT 28 near the Pochahontas County line Blowing snow across the field and the Lake effect snow clouds clinging to the top of the Allegheny Front Ridge tops near Cass, WV Rt 66 West to the entrance of snowshoe resort and village Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Probably the best snow and skiing on the east coast south of NH and Adirondacks. The drive itself was so gorgeous, we took the longer way out but was so worth it with the new highway and the scenic vistas as you drive on out there.
