Tullioz
Just a few of the many photos taken this weekend while in Baganga. Even 11 days after landfall relief has been very slow to get to this remote town. Baganga Hospital (Still open despite extensive damage) View from inside the hospital. 11 days after the storm only one doctor has been on duty since landfall. She has yet to see her own home. Tullioz
Amazing, I feel so bad for those people. Yes, the situation on the ground in the communities hardest hit is dire to say the least. I have been shuttling basic supplies, medicines, and food to Baganga since the typhoon hit and the area looks exactly as it did when I made my first visit four days after the storm made landfall. There are still infants and elderly people dying from dehydration and diarrhea even at this late stage of recovery. I along with a few other private groups are doing what we can, but when it comes to government aid and even international aid organizations the help is just not arriving like it should. I have attached an article from today that shows how politics are getting in the way.http://www.manilatimes.net/index.php/news/nation/38446-politics-hampers-aid-to-typhoon-victims Starting this weekend I will begin taking building supplies (Mainly tin for the roofs) along with vegetable seeds, cocoa seedlings, and rubber tree saplings so that the process of self sufficiency can begin for some of my friends there. It will take a very long time and things look hopeless at the moment, but these people will recover. I know we should not solicit for donations on here and this post may be deleted, but if anyone would like to know how they can help just send me a PM. Below are a couple of pictures of me handing out some food packs, clothing, and toys in the affected area. (Not exactly weather or outdoor related I Know)
