Spwild47
Hi everyone...read on JD that Twin Lakes got 14" of LES. Hoping the trough and track over MW and NE from about Dec 10 on lead to some system snow in time for my trip to Minocqua Dec 29-Jan 5. At least we will only be an hour from Hurley are if we need to rely on LES to trailer to. What is everyone else's plan's for the winter? My rides are a 99 SRX an a 2002 Viper.. beavis1729
I'll be headed up to Eagle River or the SW UP on MLK weekend (Jan. 19-21). Hopefully it will be brutally cold with at least a foot of snow on the ground.

Spwild47
Hoping a pattern flip happens and brings some cold and system snow...some runs around Dec. 10-12 look promising and hopefully warm shots are mild and transient

Jonger
Unedited video of me riding 20 inches of powder. You can hear me on "cameraman's" helmet communicator. Not the best video, it was hard to ride in that spruce swamp, big lumps of grass kept steering me around.I think 75% of this video is me getting unstuck, my skis kept getting stuck in the grass. Hopefully, when I get a Go-Pro the quality and editing of videos will improve.

michsnowfreak
Nice video Jon. I think I will do the same this Feb or early Mar as I did last year...pick a long weekend to go up north but wait to see who has the most snow. Maybe this time the snow wont be too wet to snowmobile like Grayling last March lol.
dmc76
Nice Riding there Jonger... I think? Yea Kalkaska County is awesome for LES. I head to South Boardman in two weeks. Landed a Project in Traverse City. Totally looking forward to that job
dmc76
what do you do when you're cruising along at night and hit a hidden log or something? When I was younger I rolled a sled climbing up a ditch in Clare. Not fun. Haven't gone since
Jonger
what do you do when you're cruising along at night and hit a hidden log or something? It's a risk.. gotta stick to the trails to avoid that. My cousin hit a culvert screwing around a few hours earlier. Jon

Jonger
Michigan trails officially open as of 15 minutes ago. Looks like a nice LES storm brewing for Friday-Saturday-Sunday.... I'm locked and loaded and hoping the GFS is right.

Jonger
20 inches of snow made for a lot of fun. Rode 200 miles from Thur through Saturday. Jon
weatherdavewi
I did 100 miles yesterday alone! Trails in the woods are a mess with all the downed trees.
mnweather
Most NE MN trails are closed or in poor condition. Snow is needed badly.
wishforsnow
I haven't even put gas in my sled yet, or bought a trail premit. Not enough snow. We have to have about three feet of snow to cover up the sharp rocks that are on the trails esp the ones I have to run over trying to get out of town. I never even got my sled out last year due to the combo of bad conditions and health problems. We haven't received the Alberta Clippers to give us the Lake snows and all the system snows have pretty much missed us. The last brunt of the last storm hit from Marquette east. We did get about 3 inches on top of the inch we already had. The snow banks along the streets should be up to my chest by Christmas eve, but not this year again. Jonger
The lack of LES so far has been annoying... We need some arctic air to trigger that lake, post frontal passages work great. Jon
daddylonglegs
Trails around this area are all still closed.
Jonger
Didn't you get hammered the other day? Trails are open here Dec 1st whether snow or not..... I would say 50% of the trails in Michigan are decent to good. The Thursday storm hit half of the UP and most of northern lower with good snow.
