It's amazing how one run can totally change people's thoughts on the storm without the least bit of actual analysis. Thanks for model hugging, everyone.

yay weenies!

Yup.

Hopefully this doesn't drag on all winter.

it will if Midlo continues to focus on posters like me instead of the real issues

The only thing I've said all day is the euro got its ass whipped bc it did.

These are just from this afternoon from before your "euro got its ass whipped" post, and all are from the main discussion thread:

Just a casual 100 mile shift inside of 50 hours, nothing to see here folks, move along

SREF pretty cold, .5 for DCA

word on the street is the SREFs favor a west track

I was being sarcastic and trying to underscore how far out it swings before coming back

It actually swings out to Bermuda and then hooks back to pummel NYC..... Son of Sandy lives

Wow.... NAM doesn't even sprinkle on Cape Cod

Its going to be funny in here if the NAM shows 8 inches for DC

Eww.... and with terrible ratios, thats not good for DC, congrats Philly

DCA north and east pretty much

I feel a screw job coming on with this one

Depends on rates.... once you're able to get a base coating down its all gravy

I'm lenient because I read the threads as they go most of the time and I've been here so long if annoying posts got to me I'd be insane. Perhaps we need another mod though.

I don't think we need another moderator. I know if I was one I'd be lenient as I am as big a weenie as anyone and when I was a kid I would have been like many of the posters that get overly excited. Plus I like to read some of the funnier posts.

yeah i think some want the moderation to go too far. ive never been super bothered by some banter in general threads. i do agree people should try to condense their thoughts when possible. no need to post half a line on the same thing over and over again -- unless it's euro pbp. :P

Nah mapgirl is gonna be way busy, sleep deprived, and emotionally unbalanced in a month or so. Wes is too nice. Smart as heck but too tolerant and nice to crack the weenie whip. Phineas would make an interesting one.

Yeah, I'm too emotional to be a mod

I agree with keeping it relatively loose. I've never put a single poster on ignore. I find a lot of it entertaining and I'm pretty easygoing and patient. When someone crosses the line proper action is taken. Vast majority of the blabber doesn't cross any lines. At least in my opinion.

I've got a handful of posters on ignore, but besides that, I'm not really bothered and I never felt the need to use the filter. I'm especially not the type to tell someone to stop posting or that they're horrible*....... if they're annoying, IMO it's best to just tell them to keep their crap in the banter thread and laugh at them if they keep acting dumb over there.

*my one exception may be the debbie-downer, storm canceling weenies, they're the worst wink.png

Exactly, Wes. Most of the stuff is completely harmless. If and when we have a real threat on our hands, then I understand bringing folks in line. But I'm also of the opinion that it should be done nicely.

somebody once told me, read/listen more, post less and learn, others should try that.

and Katie would be a great mod, imo.

I did that for the longest time before I began to post. I got the feel of how things went around here before I started posting so I wouldn't look like a complete jackass. tongue.png
