He has a power-outage fetish. It is what it is

It's funny because as I type this there is a special about the 1938 hurricane on the History Channel.

As per Wikipedia:

Impact

The majority of the storm damage was from storm surge and wind. Damage is estimated at $6 billion (2004 US$),[9] making it among the most costly hurricanes to strike the U.S. mainland. It is estimated that if an identical hurricane struck today it would cause $39.2 billion (2005 USD) in damage.[10]

Approximately 600 people died in the storm in New England, most in Rhode Island, and up to 100 people elsewhere in the path of the storm.[11] An additional 708 people were reported injured.[12]

In total, 4,500 cottages, farms, and other homes were reported destroyed. An additional 25,000 homes were damaged. Other damages included 26,000 automobiles destroyed, and 20,000 electrical poles toppled. The hurricane also devastated the forests of the Northeast, knocking down an estimated 2 billion trees in New York and New England.[13] Freshwater flooding was minimal, however, as the quick passage of the storm decreased local rainfall totals, with only a few small areas receiving over 10 inches (250 mm).

As some of us thought everything shifting east today at 12z . Ukie curves it NE very near Fort Walton Beach and GGEM us now back to east coast of Florida. That Midwest trough has gotten stronger and is doing the dirty work

still on track with my forecast for a E GOM hit, in the panhandle, I would be wrong in thinking it would re-emerge, but lets see.

yeah for us inland people easy to wish for it, but it would be a disaster for those close to the coast.

One has to wonder...midwest trough digging deeper, models trending more eastward then yesterday's Euro run into NO and signs of Issac are looming for an East Coast run instead of GOM landfall...Just saying..If Euro comes in this afternoon with a much bigger eastward and of course northward shift... Bing! Reality check for East Coast residents...this will most likely sound the alarm bells..not to mention its pretty much bath water out there in the Western Atlantic..with SST's running in the 80's right up to SNE. Just saying..

expect that this post has no meteorology in it and the pattern does not support this storm moving up the coast, not at all.

Hang in there...everyone should be entitled to their opinions. I know I've read posts from some complaining about being jumped on. Theoretically, you haven't busted yet, right?

It's all good. I still hope for a Texas landfall

My met training just says go against KFS

Man is it dead in here

lol. I still think it's going to be a matter of timing with that trough. You can see it clearly on the WV. Just imagine the interaction between Isaac and the trough...it's one reason I think the models have been to the west or east of it. I called for a southern tip of the peninsula hit the other day and I'm going to stick with it though it does appear that it's probably going to be west of that but we'll see.

I was thinking today about a storm off the Outer Banks. In reference to "expert analysis" From what I recall a huge trough was going to sweep it out to sea. One trough, then the second trough. The storm basically stayed stationary. Finally 7 days later after a 360 double loop a system strong enough to do the deed verified.

Issac is going to do what it will do.

Last time I checked there still is freedom of speech.
