March 2012........Happy Sping

Major blow to my seasonal total only getting 4 inches from the October snowstorm....been clawing my way back ever since.

Poor KALB still at 23 inches. My old place in the HV above Saugerties at 19 inches....6" in Oct. and 13" for the whole met.winter.

I'm .25" from 80". Not very good but this year it will be a victory. I'm hoping for a major storm to bookend the winter and put me up over the century mark.

Except for the surprise you guys had the other night the coating on March 1 was it. The vast majority of that fell on Feb 29. I will bet you a six pack that we do not see more than 2 inches of snow in Morch at any of the 4 climo siites in Sne. Deal?

Somehow ORH will pull it out of their behinds.

It's ridiculous how torches go around Pete. LOL Yesterday six hours of unrelenting torched sunlight wind, 50F here reduced my 9" at 7 AM to on average 4" by days end ...still 6" in the sunless woods.

Never got to Pete in time to do any damage.....

Largely luck because of the timing also.

Well you did have that freak 33" or whatever it was.

It wasn't just him. We had no real warmth in nrn mass too. It broke out finally, but we didn't get above 45F. Pete lives in a glen where if you go 1 mile down the road, the snowpack disappears much quicker. It's a local effect. I've seen the live cams from coop stations around there, and they had bare spots in early Feb.

I find it somewhat weird that you have 80". I swear nobody else around does. Are you sure?

Yep. Take away the October storm and I have about the same total as Rick. I know you guys think I slant stick or something but it's not the case. I've had snow cover all Winter albeit nominal for here. WxmanMitch probably has a total in the upper 60's or low 70's.

No, but as a met..you want to make sure totals jive with other stations, that's all.

WTF, are you a gypsy? What do you do? You are all over the place. Seriously one minute you are in Framingham, next Crotchett Mtn, then Cambridge, now FLL?

I'm not doubting it. :)The most remarkable aspect is your ability to hold snowpack in that location......

I'm waiting patiently for my row of evergreens to help out a bit with the sunlight...gonna be awhile and can't wish years of life away. :)

Let's see if Will will take it first. He seems confident there is plenty of snow left

I didnt say we "have plenty of snow left", I just said you had a horrific last 10 days of forecasting.

So if we get more than 2.0" from here on out in the season then I win? I'll take that bet.

My high yesterday was 39.

What did you get on Oct 27?

I had 4" on the 27th and 27" on the 29th.

When I met up with Ginxxx and ProLurker at the B'east last week I pointed out my area from the summit. It's was easy to see as it had notably more snow. You just have to look at a topo map and you can see how craggy it is. It holds the cold and wrings out the snow.

Well, it is what it is. It's nice having Mitch on the west side as his snow totals are similar (a little less as he is lower down).

Hazey in Halifax is gonna get a moderate snowfall out of this. Latest NAM brushes him with .75" now...although EC still saying only about 2.5 to 3.5 inches total.

Today Cloudy. Wind west 20 km/h gusting to 40 becoming light this afternoon. High plus 4. UV index 3 or moderate. Tonight Rain showers or flurries changing to periods of snow this evening. Snowfall amount 5 cm. Low minus 1. Monday A few flurries ending in the morning then a mix of sun and cloud. Flurries or rain showers beginning in the afternoon. Snowfall amount 2 to 4 cm. High plus 4.

This is just Kev's sneaky way of getting you to reassure him more snow is coming. You'd have to be daft to bet that no more snow will fall in SNE after 3/4.
