weatherpsycho
Anyone with a better trained eye than me think that early week system shown on the GFS has a bit of potential? I think it has potential. I made mention of it in the Clipper Thread. We want that Sat/Sun clippler to be as strong as possible. But yeah Mon/Tue system has some good potential (even if it is not MBY).

snowstormcanuck
Even if things end up being warmer overall the next couple of weeks than previously thought, the one silver lining is that it's going to be much wetter than it has been so far this late fall/early winter. I'll take 2 to 1 rainstorms to snowstorms vs. no storms at all.
hawkeye_wx
It'll be difficult keeping our snow on the ground if the latest couple Euro runs pan out. In addition to the warmup early next week, we might have this to look forward to.

Stebo
January or April? Well hell as warm as it has been we haven't had any severe weather outbreaks, maybe we can change that...

Hoosier
Heading into Thursday, ORD was +10.5 for the month (34.5). It will come down a bit in the short/mid range but it could really get ugly if late month torches.
wisconsinwx
Have a little pocket of light snow heading into the area. The light snow and flurries just don't stop coming this last day. Might be one of the classic examples of getting consistently hit with minor/moderate storms after getting barely anything white for the first six weeks of meteorological winter. Up to 9.6" on the year at MSN, today could put us over the 10" mark. Considering just how bad it's been, that's some good snow production.

turtlehurricane
We're having sun snow showers, and it's snowing pretty good. Awesome to look at from the inside, too cold outside.
Geos
Light snow showers moving through here now. 20° currently. Supposed to go down to 5° tonight! Maybe 1/2 inch of snow for tomorrow according to local met's.
snowstormcanuck
Upcoming snow chances: 1. Midweek storm (very low probability here, better chance for WI/IL) 2. Late-week clipper 3. Front end potential with a storm next weekend as the remaining arctic air wedges in. then torch.
turtlehurricane
19 °F as of 5 pm. Only thing that can hold temps back tonight is clouds, but they will decrease towards sunrise. Could get below zero imo.

michsnowfreak
That was depressing to read. It was. DT always can make you smile with his typos though lol, hes so smart but not the best typist! The gradient pattern he mentioned, however, is quite sterotypical Nina-esque....so those in the north (of which we are certainly a part of) could see several good snowstorms. They just probably wont stick around long
cyclone77
Had snow showers all day long. Visibility would drop to under a mile at times, and minutes later the sun would be out. Good stuff. Didn't really accumulate though. The clouds have held on much longer than expected this evening, so temps are still hanging in the mid teens. If we can clear out we may get down towards zero later on.
michsnowfreak
With flurries and light snow showers still falling, its now been 24 hours straight with flakes in the air. Very sparkly winters night, have to cherish it this winter.
