Picked up about 3/4 inch of wet snow this morning.NWS Reports of 5-6 inches in higher elevations. Even some low spots just to my east over in Scot county came in with over 2 inches!

The Models for the most part were a little too warm aloft in their forecast for this one. They did have areas to our East along the spine of the Apps cold enough. Dynamic & Evaporative cooling no doubt played a part in this, as it seems the models always have a problem .

As of 6AM, 1.7" new snow, 0.05" WE. Currently 19 with light snow, blowing snow.

Just an observation: It's confusing where to post observations here. The Mid Atlantic obs thread is locked.....and I don't fit in to the area specific threads.

As of 9 a.m 5.5 inches new snow here. since then just light snow showers along with strong winds. So, no additional. Favored upslope sections of the county are still mounting up, however.

NWS reports of 7 inches just to my east in the Town itself and 8-10" just south of Pennington gap. Many of the higher eles have no doubt a foot or more by now. No official reports from those areas yet.
