Guru Of Reason
Well, a common superstition on these forums is that the person who starts the thread controls the weather in his/her favor. Besides the fact that I hate hot weather, I have high blood pressure which makes heat bad for my body. So I am hoping for a colder than average June. Let's see just how true this superstition is. NOOOOO! At least that means 50s instead of 40s for the Great Lakes lol.

Helicity
I want an active Jet Across KS again, we still need the rain. A severe season like 2009 across KS would be cool too.

KokomoWX
Seem many thing we go back to below normal temps after this brief hot spell. Are we really looking at the NAO for summer months?

SpartyOn
If I remember correctly we had a rashes of negative NAO for many periods last Summer. We all backed in the heat!! Just wait until the Bermuda High sets up shop and completely roasts us back in time to 2010. Long range stays warm and hints at another "Death Ridge" coming this Friday-into the weekend. Powerball
^ Ice si pussies. Fixed. 89*F/69*F air parcel FTW. We may just crack 90*F too on the next observation.
Powerball
FWIW, Dr. Greg Forbes gave Michigan a Tor-Con of 6/10 and Illinois a 4/10. TWC's severe weather area is still a bit further NW than where the SPC has their outlook of course.
Chicago WX
Fixed. What's wrong Powerball, can't take a little complaining? Anyways, enjoy your heat. Make sure the AC is functioning properly...
Powerball
What's wrong Powerball, can't take a little complaining? Karma's a mean female dog. You can't dish it out (complain about other people complaining) and not expect it in return. But on a serious note doesn't look like we're going to have an official 90*F reading today. We've been stuck at 89*F for two observations. Maybe by luck there was an intra-hour 90*F reading.
TimChgo9
I don't feel the need for an extended heat wave. Like the OP, hot weather affects me badly. By hot, I mean above 90, with high humidity. I could stand a few dry days, however.. that would be nice. A stretch of sunny weather would finally dry stuff out around here...
SpartyOn
I think after the next ridge passes, it will cooldown for a number of days. Think the 2nd half of June goes warmer before a major cooldown in July. why?

River Card
Pastelok on accucrap says out region sees a year without summer and very wet, with major flooding. God I hope he's wrong, he is no JB but another cold summer would blow. So far looks ok right now, just need my fill of 90's.
SpartyOn
^ not a chance!! if your speaking of a true " year without a summer" that would be devastating for crops and the overall stability of the economy and general well being of the people. We would need some sort of Volcanically induced pattern changer.

cyclone77
Friday's looking pretty hot here. The 12z NAM has us reaching the low-mid 90s. With veered/southwesterly surface winds, and 850mb temps approaching 25C in the afternoon I think we have a good shot at beating the 94 we had a few weeks ago. OHSnow
30s possible tomorrow night in northeast Ohio?!? NWS CLE is forecasting a low of 40 at YNG tomorrow night. This came out of nowhere! Crazy how dry it got all of a sudden! I wonder if there will be a little frost in low-lying areas. Here's the point-click forecast for YNG: 49 tonight and 40 tomorrow night. http://forecast.weat...x=292&map.y=
