COMPLETED AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE...ADDRESSING AS MANY MEMBERS OF THE

PRESS AS POSSIBLE IN ONE LOCATION IS THE MOST EFFICIENT MEANS TO

MEET YOUR INFORMATION NEEDS AND ALLOWING US TO COMPLETE OUR DAMAGE

6,000 people in the heart of the tornado path (population estimate for Tuscaloosa tornado)

446 people un-accounted for. Reports to dispatch for welfare check where calls didn't come back

Calls could be multiple

Person could be already located

Working to improve that number, just a raw number of welfare check requests to dispatch.

Called in two additional cadaver units for assistance with searching due to the difficulties/time required to search 'rubble.'

Agency in charge of coordinating volunteer efforts during disasters was destroyed.

EMA creating an 8-person volunteer coordination team starting Sunday...

995 injuries, 5.9 miles long. 1/4 - 1/2 mile wide.
