Cajun Thunder
Tony, have you seen anything even preliminary on the Birmingham tornado being EF5. I keep seeing media outlets reporting it as such, but havent seen anything even remotely official. I won't speak for Tony, but knowing the process...it will likely be after sunset, or tomorrow before you see an official statement out of Birmingham. I'm sure that the survey teams are going to use all reasonable daylight to do their work, then get back to the office and get something typed up. There are just too many tracks to do in one or two days. These offices are going to need help from offices outside the main damage areas to get surveys done in a timely manner. You look at the offices that have had significant amounts of severe weather this week, just in Southern Region...and it's astounding. I'm sure I will miss an office or two, but you have Tulsa, Little Rock, Memphis, Jackson, Birmingham, Huntsville, Morristown, Atlanta...all with significant amounts of damage to deal with. Hopefully, by the end of the weekend, there will be a lot firmer numbers. From what I've seen and heard so far, an excellent job was done by the offices involved. Per NWSChat...Catoosa County GA rated as EF4
