On the other hand you guys torch sometimes in lakes cutter situations, while I keep the dammed in cold air longer. My hills Down to 48F this morning. Logan11
Well...TBH, my observations are that Ithaca isn't in the greatest spot for snow due to being down in that hole by Cayuga Lake relative to the plateaus around it, plus not in a great trajectory for LES off either lake. That being said - you will certainly get a much better winter than around Harrisburg. Cornell is up on a hill over the city some and that may help, but I tend to go to Downtown Ithaca for work on occasion so that's my experience. You drive east a bit onto the high ground toward Dryden and it always seems like the snow is much better. I'll be a freshman meteorology student at Cornell University this fall. Blizzard92
Thanks for the responses guys. Just trying to learn some of the local patterns up there as it is certainly different than Harrisburg. How do they usually do in cold air damming situations?
