  1. Past hour
  2. It would be genuinely great if some version of that came to pass - we desperately need extended days of good rain across the whole area.
  3. Euro's probably overdone but it has been pretty consistent with 3"+ from Saturday through Tuesday
  4. I think we did OK in hunt valley - puddles this AM and I heard the rain hitting the windows pretty good after midnight. Anything is welcome, and that was unexpected goodness. Thought line would not hold, for a change, it did.

  6. Looks like it was quite intense heading down the I-80 corridor. In State College lots of trees down/roads closed. I remember some decent T-storms and small hail when I lived there but this seemed particularly bad. The line bowed out heading that way so I’m sure there was significant wind impact that whole area. Edit-saw report of 65mph gust at the NWS State College office.
  7. Got down to 49.8 here after being 60 at 6:00 AM but now sun out and warming nicely
  8. Below average sounds lovely
  9. Yikes! Hoping the GFS is closer to correct. 7" of rain would be terrible.
  10. That’s why I’ve given up on mainstream forecasters
  11. Curious how much out-of-state help the power companies have employed for this. Due to the wide scope of the damage, it wouldn't surprise me much if things were shut down the rest of the week.
  12. Anyone old enough to have been wx-aware in the 1960s just snickers at the ongoing recent drought talk. 77/32 yesterday, biggest diurnal span here since 2020 (but puny compared to BML/SLK). Worked up a decent sweat while splitting wood. Gusts well into the 30s here this morning, red maple flowers from somewhere littering the porch steps.
  13. Reminds me of the time I had my brand new 1997 VW Jetta GT manual. Parked it at work. Left the sunroof open to keep it cool. HUGE storm rolled in with like an inch of rain in 20 minutes. I got to the car, there was an inch of water int he foot wells. lol. I vacuumed it out and let it air dry. No mildew smell and all the electronics worked. I miss that car.
  14. 38F, some sun and gusty NW wind. Nice crisp autumn air mass after summer. Leaves should be changing soon.
  15. I don't know why anyone follows those stupid models? Looks like maybe a light shower in spots.
  16. No one was saying flooding. But okay...
  17. A lot of uncertainty associated with the closed low idea and how it plays out. Potentially some significant rain somewhere in the region. The latest ens means-
  18. No rain here last night, but it looks like chances are increasing ahead of a cold front arriving Friday night.
  19. I was in State College at the time of that Line going through last night. It was absolutely wild and impressive. At the time, I thought it had a chance to make it over the mountains all the way across the state as it still had good form even exiting the Harrisburg region. It just wasn’t meant to be for the Lehigh Valley.
  20. And as fast as the line fizzled, my warning was unfounded. It's crazy what that I-81 ridge from Tremont to Hazleton can do. It happens a lot...
  21. Today
  22. Dew points creeping up 64 F here.
