Semi-lucky again, low was 30.5. Currently 30.9/27.0 with clear skies. Appears that it is SLIGHTLY warmer up on ridges than down low, as in town it is 28-29. Canaan NWR currently 13.1!!

26.8 this morning. Another hard freeze.

35 here. Coldest morning until Fall arrives. Now the warmup begins

This was expected due to the record lack of coupling this year.

A strong cold front moved off the East Coast on April 15th with snow being reported in parts of Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina. The stage was then set for an Interior snowstorm during April 18-20. During that storm, Litchfield County in Connecticut picked up 6" (15.2 cm) of snow. The Catskills saw two feet (61.0 cm).

29° with frost. The orchard behind my backyard is burning hay and straw again to protect the fruit trees.
-
The second system brought a trace of snow to Caribou. The total snowfall for the two systems was 2.6".

36 degrees currently, yesterday’s high was 46 degrees. The top wind gust was only 42 mph, but a few of them gusts seemed more than that. With that wind yesterday it was cold! Edit: 5:44 am 32 degrees

Made the journey out tonight (with an assist from a now very tired dad) and it was awesome. Would highly recommend, and there was some snow at the top as a bonus!
-
Looking forward to watching the cumulonimbus boil upward on the eastern horizon Fri afternoon.

2025 Short Range Severe Weather Discussion
CheeselandSkies replied to Chicago Storm's topic in Lakes/Ohio Valley
Today's Euro runs would have a decent threat into parts of the sub on Sunday. GFS is nowhere near as impressive. Basically a complete 180 from their respective positions on tomorrow's threat at a similar range. -

I’ll throw a C- grade at this winter. Lacked snowfall, but with sustained seasonal cold the ground was white and the lakes were frozen all winter. Had a couple decent storms. 5.5” on 12/19 and 9.5” on 3/5. I think we are still paying for the epic 22/23 winter. -
Of course it all falls apart for us near sunset.

This has been a hellish spring. The cold wind and constantly dreary skies have been relentless. Every week people keeping saying this is the last cold day wash rinse repeat the following week.

This didn't age very well

Still mostly cloudy too -
This is why mountains shut it down this time of year. A month ago this lift would be carrying a full load if there was 5” of upper mountain snowfall, and snowing hard.

Uhh maybe … let’s not forget the world we live in. Don’t be fooled by a persistent pattern. When this cold bias (relative to said world) leaves things can turn around really fast. Happen a lot when it’s warm in the fall people start going uh oh. “I have a feeling this winter’s are gonna be more back loaded.” Sometimes even sounding official like I’m looking at some indicators…
